Our plan in creating MONSTER CON was basically twofold:

1 - To bring a serious model figure convention back to the Northeast. Not so many years ago, there were a number of Northeast model figure shows every year, and although the hobby continues to expand, there hasn’t been a figure-themed show in the Northeast for many years. We feel that should change. It’s important for artists, sculptors, kit producers, collectors, and modelers to have a place to gather – an event to display, buy, sell, trade, and learn about modeling, live and in person with fellow fans.

For 30 years now, Sassy’s has been based in the Capital region. We have hundreds of regional customers, many of whom collect model figures and statues. MONSTER CON will give these customers a chance to purchase from a wide range of kit producers and venders.

 

2 - To bring the fun and excitement of a serious Pop Culture convention back to upstate New York’s Capital District. Most “Comic Cons” in the Capital region are brief, one day events, mainly offering common commodity and not much truly special. We want MONSTER CON to change all that. We’re designing our show, carefully selecting the venders and artisans to present a wide range of collectibles folks won’t easily find offline... if at all.
 

Sure there’ll be lots of amazing models for sale, but also quality comics, rare books, magazines, action figures, vinyl LP’s, non-sports cards, movie posters, vintage and modern toys, original art, and much more. It’s an event produced by collectors, for collectors! We’re also planning many special events, including contests, seminars, workshops, and some spectacular displays.
